Goodbye, April

Our time at the beach is nearly over.  We haul tomorrow to the next stop in our journey.

I am happy to report that the Kirkland brand of Irish Whiskey is completely satisfactory.  It is certainly NOT Jameson, but it's close enough.  At half the price, it is worth it.

So the RV Park that we have been at, final report card:
  • They do not enforce the rules.
    • Neighbors have laundry hanging.
    • Neighbors washing vehicles and RVs.
    • People speeding thru the park makes me cringe.
  • and do not even get me STARTED about the neighbors that have smoked a carton of cigarettes every single day.

The next park reported that where our RV will be at is very tight quarters and all of their employees will be involved with us getting our RV into the slot.  What the heck!?  I'll report in about that adventure afterward.

We have had many food adventures here at the beach.  I would say that there were two restaurants that are noteworthy:
For fish and sushi: Boardwalk Billy's
Chianti South had amazing traditional, northern Italian food.

April, 2019

We are staying here for the month of April: North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Dry Dock
Very calm and quiet for now.  Still a little cool though.  This last week, there was SNOW just to our northwest.  Might be a repeat this week.

Rode past this today: Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam
There were a LOT of Jeep Wranglers skulking about.

We found a Costco and went to the liquor store.  Found that they have a Jameson Irish Whisky knock-off under the store brand Kirkland.  $27 for a 1.75.  I'll have to report back on that.

Tomorrow, we return to Barefoot Church and for lunch, getting Beyond Burgers at BurgerFI

And finally, Sunday's episode of Alejandro Aranda - oops! - I mean American Idol.

Step 3 - Closing and OTR!

We closed on the farm last Tuesday.  We did a walk-thru with the new owners just before closing and it was a little sad to walk out of the house with all of our stuff in it.

The buyers asked if they could buy ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that we would be willing to part with.  So, we took them up on that concept.  It saved us from having to sell or store all of the furniture, dishes, knickknacks, etc. and gave us cash in a savings account which we will use later to furnish the condo or cabin that we will purchase later.

Last week, "closing week", we had hauled the RV down to Twin Lakes RV Park in Cumming, GA.

Last Saturday, we hauled down to Eagles Landing RV Park in Holt, Florida so that we can get our driver's licenses, tags for the RV and Truck, etc.

Yesterday, I hired an RV maintenance team to install the external antennae for my cell-based internet connection.  They did a great job!  Boosted my cell router from 2-bars of LTE to 4-bars!

Today, we paid off the truck!   The only loan we have now is for the RV... which we will probably pay off by end of the year.

Step 1 - Put Property on the Market

Finally, the hobby farm is on the market!
The Hobby Farm

In the meantime, we are hitting the road as often as possible.

Last two trips, we pulled our older RV to surrounding parks to hang out.

Valley River RV Park:  This park is nestled in a valley just northeast of Murphy, NC.  The park is currently working on doubling their spaces.  In the meantime, they have a really cool pool and a lake.  We were surprised to find that the RV Park is right across the road from one of the Harrah's casinos.

Myrtle Beach Travel Park: Currently, in late September, post-hurricane, we are in North Myrtle Beach, SC.  This RV Park is right on the ocean!  It also has a substantial lake - with its own alligator, a fancy pool with a tubing river, an arcade, and more!  We are actually thinking this would be one of the good spots to winter.

One of the healthy things that we can easily do at an RV park that we could not do at home is walk.  This morning, we walked for an hour around the park and on the beach.  This evening, we swam in the outdoor pool.  There were only two other people there!

Due to prior commitments, we will have to haul back home on Tuesday.  :-(

Stay tuned for the next mini-adventure from,
