As in all things, there is a learning curve. Well, living in an RV is no different. Here is our ongoing list of the mishaps we have made and hopefully have learned from.
Moving Day Preparations:
- Forgot to secure office's sliding barn door. 2/2019
- Forgot to secure TV against the wall. (we got lucky on that one for nothing happened) 3/2019, 4/19/19
- Left two front leveling blocks. 3/2019
- Forgot to secure the glass shower doors. (We had to pull off the side of the interstate and lock them down.) 4/2019
- Forgot to secure the closet doors in the master bedroom. (Resulted in broken $30 latch) 5/2019
- Forgot to secure the refrigerator doors. (Food was rolling around everywhere .5/2019
- Forgot to remove the clock from the wall. (We now need a new clock.) 8/2019
- Dennis forgot his coffee mug sitting on the kitchen island. (Coffee was everywhere!) 8/2019
- Don't store anything on the sofa that can get caught when slide outs are deployed. 9/2019
- Forgot to secure bathroom sliding door. Luckily not happened. 8/31/19, 4/2620
Set Up Mistakes:
- Almost hit a gas pipe. (bought back up camera!) March 2019
Driving Mishaps:
- Pulled into a gas station in small-town America just to realize we still stuck out in the middle of the road and were blocking traffic. Oops!
- Hit a keep off grass post with side of rv. $1,200 mishap!
The Learning Curve:
- Learned we needed to remove sofa cushions so they do not get caught in slide outs. Feb 2019
- Learned propane freezes. Mar 2019
- Made a moving day prep list and posted it on the refrigerator.
- Always have a water filter and pressure reducing valve on hand!
- Check propane levels before it runs out!
