the next room, new helpers
In September, my two sisters came and did their time at the Cabin Workcamp. I could not ask for better sisters. These two have always had my back and this time was no different.
My oldest sister, Nadine, had never used a nail gun either but was more than willing to learn too and boy, did she. Next thing I knew she was standing on top of the cabinets just nailing away. Found out quick not to turn my back on her or she would have everything nailed to the wall.
During their week-long visit, we scraped, sanded, and painted 54 of the 10 feet long furring strips. Then scraped and scraped and scraped the old paint off of the boards that make up the kitchen walls. After all the painting and sanding was done we got down to putting two coats of
"Chick Grey" paint on the walls. We were hoping to get the black pipe shelves up before they left but time just ran out on us.
Great job Pam and Nadine, I promise to never taskmaster you again!
Party Time!
Also
in September we took a break from our normal Saturday, must-get-it-done day and drove 2 hours south to our youngest granddaughter's birthday party. My son had put up a bouncy house in the back yard and you could hear little girls squealing with delight when you turned onto their street. Happy Birthday, Izzy! GG and Poppy loves you! As you can guess, her favorite color is purple which so matches her sweet, bubbly personality!
